About Summer Math Academy

 

MDH Educational Foundation, inc, in partnership with Dr. Juanita Morris consulting presents comprehensive and unique math programming for July 2019: Summer Math Academy.  

Some sessions are designed specifically for girls with separate sessions for boys. All courses are designed for active engagement and are equipped with both a teacher and an assistant.  Ultimately, the goal of the Summer Math Academy is to refresh skills and expand knowledge base before returning to school in August. We are working to combat the summer slide in a core subject.

 All Courses Will Be Held at MacArthur High School

Key Information

  • There is NO COST to students & families.  Summer Math Academy is sponsored by The Decatur Public Schools Foundation.

  • Register your student according to the grade for the coming school year.

  • Students can sign up for one week or multiple weeks. Different skills will be presented each week.

  • Math sessions will be hands-on and fun while focusing on core academic standards.

  • There are NO math books and NO worksheets! Students are actively involved in their community as well as the lesson.

  • Summer Math Academy is open to all students in Macon County.

  • Maximum class size for 1st and 2nd grade is 20, the remainder of the classes it’s 25.  

  • Each class has a teacher and a classroom assistant.

  • Register EARLY - SMA fills up quickly!!!!
